“Why is there a focus on the negative, on so-called failures and weaknesses?” I ask this in a recent article published in Personal Excellence Essentials. “Would you push an eagle to become a better swimmer, just because it’s not naturally where he is most effective? Would you agonize over teaching a fish how to fly? Of course not.
“But imagine what would happen if you pushed that eagle to become even better at soaring and gave the swimming lessons to the fish. What heights and speed each could achieve!”
This article does a great job of highlighting the attributes concept overall, and of outlining the concepts addressed in my new book, Why Make Eagles Swim? Embracing Natural Strengths in Leadership and Life
