One of my clients recently shared this brief video when responding to a blog post, and I loved it!
In this interview for Fortune magazine’s “The best advice I ever got” series, Eric Schmidt – Google executive chairman and former CEO – makes a couple of keen observations about the value of leadership coaching, and about his own initial reluctance at the suggestion.

I particularly like his observation that having a coach doesn’t mean you’re doing anything wrong. It’s like a top athlete or musician who has such a helper. The coach isn’t necessarily a better player or musician. In fact, that’s unlikely. But he or she provides an essential outside perspective, because, as Schmidt says “the one thing people are never good at is seeing themselves as others see them.”
Great thoughts!
