The other day, I came across this interview with Jackie Rowe-Adams, a Harlem mom who supports New York City’s controversial stop-and-frisk program.
Her approach struck me as a great example of 2 keys to high-impact communication:
- Make it simple
- Make it real
Her point is powerful because it’s straightforward and from the heart. When you compare her message to many arguments from sophisticated intellectuals on the nuances of this complex issue, you’ll notice that her voice has a lot more impact because she naturally embraces these powerful communication tools.

A real and poignant message–worth remembering and appreciate the actual visual example. Thank you
